Join us for one  of the fastest growing sports in the United States! Pickleball is a racket (paddle) sport that involves elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.  The game is played with either 2 or 4 players. The equipment used are wooden or composite paddles, net, and perforated ball (much like a wiffle ball, but with 26-40 holes). General Pickleball Information

Open Court Play:  Cost:$10 per month
Come out and enjoy playing pickleball in this open court format. Participants that are registered with RARO can show up and play. There are 3 courts available and participants rotate through playing against each other. This is great physical activity and social time. This fall, we will be offering open court play at 2 locations (pending registration numbers) on Monday (MRMS), Wednesday (Rivermont), and some Fridays (MRMS). You should have some previous playing knowledge and experience. Check out the calendar link below for dates, times, and locations of open court play opportunities.

Ladder League: Cost: $25 (Thursday league play and Tuesday practice or make-up play)
Sign up as an individual for doubles or singles to play in a fun, competitive, structured, ladder league (there will be a singles ladder if enough people register to play). Ladders will be determined by skill rating with players having the ability to move up and down based on weekly play. This is a co-ed league for adults (18+). Ladders will include players with up to 3.0 rating and 3.5+.

Where: Rockbridge High School Tennis Courts (6 courts). Rivermont will serve as an indoor back up (3 courts) if needed.

When: 9/5-10/17. Thursdays League Play, Tuesdays Practice play or make-up league play (in case of a rain out on the preceding Thursday)

Time: 5:30-7:30pm (flexible start time for groups – start time will adjust with daylight schedule)

Playing Rules: This is not a USA Pickleball Association sanctioned league, but we will be playing by USAPA Rules (Rules Summary - USA Pickleball ). This is an adult league, all participants must be 18 years or older at the time of registration

A 4-week intro course teaching you everything you need to know to get started playing pickleball will take place in the spring. More information to come. If you have any questions, please contact the office. All participants must be registered to participate in this class.
