Basketball Registration will begin on October 1st

Our Basketball programs are offered for the following ages:

Intro to Basketball - (5-6 year olds) This is a 6 week program that will meet twice a week. The first 3 meetings will be clinic style run by the RARO staff introducing the fundamental skills and rules of basketball. After the clinics, kids will be broken up into teams and will have 1 practice and 1 game each week. The intro league will play 4 on 4 games with rules that allow the kids to gain confidence in developing their basketball skills and basic concepts of the game. 

All of our Rookie / Junior / Senior programs will follow a similar format: 
Registration......Evaluations....Team Selection/Draft....Practices Begin.....Games Begin 

Rookies (7-8 year olds) This is program is designed to continue  developing basic fundamentals but begin introducing the team concept along with competition. The Rookies will play 4 on 4 to maximize on court time, basic concepts in spacing, screening, and defensive positioning.

Juniors (9-10 year olds) This program continues to work on the foundations laid in our Intro and Rookie leagues. Offensive movements and actions designed to break down a team defense will be utilized. Defensive positioning and each player working as 1 to stop the ball will be a main focus. 

Seniors (11-13 years old) This program is where it all starts to come together. The individual fundamentals, the team concepts, and schemes become a major part of the offensive and defensive plans. 

Evaluations

Rookie Basketball Evaluations the week of November 4              
Junior Basketball Evaluations the week of November 4
Senior Basketball Evaluations the week of November 18

Teams

Teams will be set after evaluation dates. Once teams have been selected/drafted, coaches will be in contact with you about practice times and dates.

Practices

Intro to Basketball Begins the week of November 4 Ends December 18th
Rookie                          Begins  the week of November 11 Ends February
 Juniors Begins the week of November 11 Ends February
Seniors      Begins the week of November 18 Ends February

Games

Rookie & Juniors Jamboree/Scrimmage day on December 14, Regular Season Games start January 11th
Seniors Begins week of January 6th

All Stars

RARO Staff and Coaches will work together to select all star teams for each age group. These teams will participate in an end of season tournament. An additional charge may be required for those playing on the all star team. 

Coaches

Our goal is to grow the game and help these players develop a love for the sports of Basketball and Wrestling. We welcome anyone that has a passion for the game and helping this younger generation learn. Our #1 goal is to promote a healthy, safe, encouraging environment throughout this league.
